Truthfully, Kon felt more unsure about the tasks themselves than being partnered up with anyone. Something about the way the woman had described them, saying they were an alternative to war, it made Kon wary. He didn't need his memories to know that he didn't like the idea of people getting hurt, either. He's hoping there's no actual fighting, as he's not sure he could do it.
"Kon," he answers, still partially sidetracked with thoughts of what was to come, "And I dunno the meaning of it, either. Like, I get the feeling that names are supposed to have meanings? But I don't know what mine is."
It's probably something important to who he is. Maybe it's tied to his memories somehow?
