WHOOPS another thing
[The best part about going to a nice, fancy school is that they get to take all the awesome school trips. Sure, it's supposed to be for educational purposes- this one in particular is a four-day trip to a beach-side town to study tidepools and the bits of life that live within them- but who says they have to be entirely about education? Satoshi certainly isn't.
Which is why he very quickly sneaks off from the main class as soon as he can. A five-hour train ride, followed by an hour of getting settled into hotel rooms and then lunch, and he is already going stir-crazy. It is the last week of June, and he's going to be on summer break as soon as they get back from this trip, so learning is not something he intends on doing.
Fortunately, since everyone on the trip is 11th graders, the teachers aren't keeping a close eye on them. So when their afternoon lessons start (exploring the beach to scout out places to observe for the next couple days), Satoshi quickly slips behind a rocky outcropping and heads over to a part of the beach most people aren't going to, thanks to the uneven rocks and lack of a sandy beach. Once he is well out of sight, almost under one of the many long, tall piers, he will sit down on one of the rocks to relax for a bit.
Satoshi is looking out over the water, watching the waves make their way to the rocks, so if anything strange were to swim up, he might see it. Not that he's expecting anything, though. Even though it's almost July, the water is a bit cold for humans to swim in.]
