John + Dave, AU SUPERHEROES!!1
[OKAY. SO. John lives in a quiet city where there are no crazy video games or alien species or anything. He is normal and lives a normal life with his normal family and stuff.
Then, on the night of his sixteenth birthday, a meteor lands in a park near his home and he investigates. Due to Comic Book Logic about spacey things, John suddenly gains superpowers! But of course he didn't look to see if anyone else was in the park at that time, and he still had to learn how to use those powers. Pro-tip: he was very bad at it and there were several tornadoes in the following weeks.
BUT WE'RE SKIPPING ALL OF THAT. No it's like June now and almost summertime and John knows how to not blow shit up with his windy stuff. But he's still keeping it a secret because he's sure he'll go to jail for property damage if anyone finds out it was him. He hasn't even told his best bro, who happens to be sitting next to him in class.
Nope, he has better things to ask of Dave.]
If you were a superhero, would you wear those goofy tights?
[This is a legit question Dave don't let him down. John may or may not be designing a superhero uniform.]

Tights? Yo fuck that noise dude, tights are for Natalie Portman to swan around in and homos. Unless its Robin Hood, Hood's the boss, don't fuck with the hood, word?"
[And clearly Dave a legit answer.]
no subject
Man, why do you always bring her up? That's not even an answer.
[But it DOES give him an idea. Don't mess with the hood, huh? Maybe a really awesome hood would be a good idea for his costume.]

Why do you wanna know about tights all of a sudden? And sure its an answer dude, do i have to go all 1st grade spelling bee on your ass? Answer; A thing said, written, or done to deal with or as a reaction to a question, statement, or situation.
[After a pause Dave actually does pass a comment.]
And no, tights are lame, I'd go with a cape.
no subject
Ugh, you're so stupid! And capes are dumb anyway, they'd get caught in doors and stuff.

[Dave and John were shooshed by the teacher as they walked over to their desk, glaring at Dave as he continued to try and repeat what he was trying to say to John.
The tutor cleared their throat asking: Mr Strider, if you have something to say you can share it with the class. and so.. Dave being Dave of course he stands up and shares.]
I was saying, before I was rudely interrupted, gosh~ That you wouldn't have to use a door, you could just jump out of a window.
[Of course the teacher doesn't know what they were talking about but the rest of the class chuckled, which only led to Dave getting a detention after class.]

Of course, he wouldn't actually do that, because bros didn't leave bros hanging. So once the teacher has her back turned John sneaks over to the door and taps on the glass to get Dave's attention. Then he holds up a really shitty drawing of himself in some goofy blue clothes with a huge-ass hood, but then Dave is scribbled down in the corner in red clothes with his cape stuck in a door.
Just for you, Dave. Just for you.]

In the back of his head he was kind of paranoid... Did John know about Dave's little secret? Was this is dorkish way of letting Dave know?]
no subject
But hey, if nothing else, John has certainly decided to try being a masked superhero. Or a hooded one, rather. And after a week of trying to sew something only for it to be utter shit, he gives up and buys a zippie-hoodie, pants, and shoes. It's not quite the cool costume he envisioned, but it is enough to keep his identity hidden.
Which is helpful, since he gets photographed taking down some baddies. Oops.
But the photos are only of his back, and he's able to run away before being caught, leaving behind only rumors of a super-powered kid who fights crime. Which he of course brings up the next time he sees Dave.]
So Dave, did you hear about that superhero guy?
