[A huge bed, a giant hot tub, a perfect view, and the promise of cutting open some demons later in the mission. Stein doesn't really need anything else (and honestly, he could do without everything but the last thing on that list).

Shiro's reaction is amusing, and completely unnecessary.]

[Don't get him wrong, he's alright with Stein. The guy is weird, and has been ever since their academy days. Now that they're a few years out of that and have been practically-adults for a year or two, he's seemed to mellow out. That, or he's good at hiding his psychotic tendencies.

But Shiro is a bed hog, and the only way he ever shares a bed is when it involves certain activities that also involve being naked.]

[That gets a snort and a laugh from Rin.]

Okay, Kuro maybe. I didn't know Kuro back then though! Or... you or anyone...

[the laughter subsides in to a soft, thoughtful sigh.]

I wonder if I woulda been a different person, if I had known you sooner...

[Sure, their arguments usually stem from caring for each other, but they're still arguments.]

[She reaches over and prods him in the side gently.]

So what brought this on all of a sudden?

[He frowns, both at the prodding and the question.]

I dunno, I guess I was just thinking about it. We've been dating for three months now, and we haven't really done anything.

[Heaven forbid the girl you just tried to kiss actually touch you. Geez.]

Well... yeah, but there's been other things on our mind. I mean... I wouldn't mind doin' other stuff with you, but I haven't really been all that worried about it.

Hell, most of the time it's just nice to come home after workin' all day in the kitchen and just spend time with you...

[She trailed off a little there, the hand she had used to prod him with settling next to his on the bed. Another bit of red crept in to her cheeks as she added something with a slightly more sheepish tone:]

I really wouldn't... mind doin' other things with you, though...

[He goes pink too, and suddenly he looks away. He thinks he knows what Rin is talking about, and truth be told the thoughts were in his mind too.]

[He admits it so Rin doesn't feel awkward for bringing it up. Also because he wants to see where this goes.]

[Even though he had tried to kiss her not twenty minutes ago, she wasn't expecting to hear him respond with that after what she had said. Her face does a nice job of going completely red all the way to her ears, and she ducks her head down as if that's going to hide it.

Her fingers inch towards his across the small gap between them, threading through with a bit of uncertain hesitance. Slowly she looked back up at him, blue eyes as vivid as ever through the mess of black fringe over them.]

[Shiro has a scar from Stein, and Stein constantly wears the bracelet Shiro have him. That makes them even.]

[Oh HELL no. Stein might technically outrank Shiro in the Doctor meister, but Shiro has more meisters overall so he totally outranks Stein in his mind. Plus he's older!

The height comment was not missed, by the way. It's not his fault that he stopped growing when he reached 177 centimeters, while Stein continues to grow even to this day. Right now there's not that much of a difference between them, so he won't stand for short jokes.]

How about I make you sleep in the bathtub?

Rin straightens up a bit, reaching with her other hand to prod him in the cheek this time.]

Then you're not allowed in it. Ever. [If Stein's getting a hot tub he's going to take full advantage of a long, hot bath. Stein's going to be absurdly tall once he hits his full height, and his bones have been a constant full throb of growing pains for the last few years. He has no objections to a hot tub bath, or falling asleep in the water.

[Unlike Stein, Shiro hasn't had growing pains for a while, so becoming a prune does not sound appealing. But he still wants to be clean.]
