[Rin shared her room with Yuki, so there was almost always a presence there in the room with her. Granted it was Yuki who had nightmares when they were younger, not Rin, and when they were very little the younger Okumura would crawl in to Rin's lower bunk at night and they would talk about the things she could see but Rin couldn't.
In retrospect, that should have been a big clue, but it stopped after Yuki was seven and Rin only recently learned why.
And it wasn't like she had friends to have sleepovers with, so this is all strange and new to her. The idea of sleeping alone and the fear of returning to nightmares far outweighs any desire to leave, though.
