In retrospect, that should have been a big clue, but it stopped after Yuki was seven and Rin only recently learned why.
And it wasn't like she had friends to have sleepovers with, so this is all strange and new to her. The idea of sleeping alone and the fear of returning to nightmares far outweighs any desire to leave, though.
She doesn't question his response, but there's a decently long silence from her where in she debates between a half-assed lie and the embarrassing truth.]
... bad dreams.
no subject
But he deals with them by himself, rather than by seeking out comfort. His parents weren't exactly easy to talk to, and his friends looked to him for support, not the other way around. It was hard, being the pillar of strength in a group. It's hard, and nobody understands.
So when Rin says bad dreams, he gets it. But he's not going to admit to that, especially not to Rin.]
You're not a blanket hog, right?
[Because that is the most important aspect of sharing a bed with a girl.
...which Bon just realizes. Holy shit he's in a bed with a girl. He keeps forgetting that Rin is female now because he's used to boy Rin and this Rin doesn't act much like a girl anyway.]
no subject
Mhmn...
[She totally is, but she has her own blanket so hopefully that will offset some of the need to burrito.]
no subject
Also, at some point that night, they're going to end up burritoing up together. That's just how it has to work, Bon doesn't sleep well if he's not wrapped up.]
no subject
Burritoing together is just fine with her though. Having another person there helps her actually fall asleep, and while her dreams are still dark in nature, she manages a good four, almost five hours without a nightmare.
One does happen, though. Not nearly as bad as the others, but bad enough that the Rin-Burrito next to Bon eventually starts whimpering, curling tighter as if hiding from something.]
no subject
But he does frown in his sleep, and as if by instinct he moves to drape an arm over Rin, pulling her closer to him. Shh, no more tears, only dreams now.]
no subject
no subject
His mind has to wake up some to realize just what is going on, but as it does he tenses up next to her. He's doing a good job of not making a scene, but he is screaming internally.]
no subject
no subject
Oi. Wake up.
[He's keeping his voice calm but there is still internal screaming going on here. And more freaking out over a girl being in his bed. Rin's female-ness doesn't matter most of the time, but somehow it matters now.]
no subject
Mnhmnn...
no subject
[Nope nope he's not giving up, she's been sleeping long enough and there's touching going on and cuddling too.
Speaking of which, he tries to discreetly slip his arm away from over Rin and pull back a little, to put some room between them.]
no subject
[Well that was... slightly more definitive of a noise. Less 'not awake and making noises' and more 'I'm awake but I'm going to be stubborn about it'.
She doesn't fully protest the arm going away, but she seems to be clinging a bit with that cuddling of hers. Don't leave, Bon. You're warm. :( ]
no subject
[He's trying to sound rational about this, though if Rin looks at his face she'll see how red it is.]
no subject
[What was that about being rational?
She does peek an eye open, though, and while she manages to not smile, her tired eyes are betrayed just how amused she is at his face.
You let her in your bed, Bon. You're as much to blame for this as she is.]
no subject
[But he was sleepy when he let her in :( and truthfully, he doesn't mind that much. It's not 'Rin is in my bed' that's bugging him, it's 'Rin is a girl, and a girl is in my bed' that is. As much as he doesn't really care about gender, he's still very much a boy in some ways.]
no subject
Three days where I was unconscious the entire time. That's no fun. 'sides, I'm comfy, I don't wanna move.
[Girl or not, Rin is Rin and she's certainly got the any excuse for laziness down pat.]
no subject
Staying in someone else's bed all day isn't supposed to be fun.
[He doesn't even realize how much he left himself open to terrible comments there.]
no subject
It can be!
[Yeah you really did leave yourself open there, Bon. Have you really forgotten that Rin is a pervert?
Even if... she totally didn't meant to actually blurt that out.]
no subject
He'll just be staring at Rin for a long time before saying anything.]
No.
no subject
His response does get her to sit up finally, frowning at him.]
Were you born with a stick up your ass or did that come with the monk trainin'?
no subject
[Sorry Rin, he's. Really dumb when it comes to girls.]
no subject
[Yeah she's noticing that, and also not buying his bullshit either.]
no subject
[And he will roll over and cocoon himself in his blanket. Sorry Rin it's a Bon-tantrum, he doesn't want to admit that maybe he imagined it for a second and wasn't grossed out by it.]
no subject
Rin throws her hands up, which is comical given that she's still half wrapped in her own blanket.]
I swear to God, Allah, Buddha, whatever that you are the oldest sixteen year old I've ever met! Would it actually kill you to have even the tiniest bit of fun?! Because really, tell me now, before I accidentally make you laugh and send you in to a heart attack!
