[She shrugs, the collar of her too-big shirt slipping down a shoulder]

That's an understatement. I never even noticed girls, until now.

It's still hard to believe that you've never dated, though. Even before the whole "spawn of satan" thing.

She smiles up at him, leaning back on her hands a little as she looks up at the ceiling with a wistful sigh.]

Naaah... not that hard t'believe. Remember how I was when I came in to the class? I was worse before I met everyone. No one wanted to be around me! Let alone date me.

Yeah, there were plenty of guys running roundabouts at night. We used to take bets on that sort of thing-- wondering who'd be next and who they'd be with...

[ Jean was too shy for that stuff. Or maybe he was just too busy being a huge nerd. ]

Then again, with the chance of death as high as it is for us, I can see why people would wanna start early.

[The nice part about going out on missions is that the order provides nice hotel rooms for its exorcists. This one is no exception: nice sheets and blankets, a lakeside view, and the bathtub was pretty much a hot tub! Yes, this was perfect, and Shiro would have loved staying here for the week if not for one tiny detail.

The hotel had been told that two people would be staying in this room. This wasn't unusual, people shared hotel rooms all the time. But whoever booked the room had neglected to mention that they needed two beds in this room, which meant they got whatever was left at that point.

Sure, it was a huge king bed. And sure, Stein was Shiro's friends, and they could share space. But that wasn't the point.

So there was Shiro, with his duffel bag still on his shoulder, staring down at the one king size bed. He's been doing that for the last half-minute, by the way.]

You've got to be shitting me.

I dunno, I never really saw the big deal in it. I mean sure, I've never done it, but even so it doesn't seem like something to risk severe punishment over.
