John + France shenanigans

[One clear, sunny day, a teenager happens to be standing on a street corner not far from the Eiffel Tower, staring up at the massive structure in front of him. He doesn't seem to notice the people around him, and he doesn't really care about their everyday business. No, he just seems far too excited to care. In fact, his enthusiasm is more clearly expressed through his words.]

Yessss, I finally made it to France! I need to find out where the Roman Colosseum is, that's on everyone's to-do list when they visit Barcelona, right?

[...yeah, someone failed world history. But who better to correct him than a nation, right?]

[The Eiffel Tower is the best place to pick up strays. Sometimes you got the jackpot. The ex-Bride or Groom who's been ditched at the altar but decided not to let the honeymoon go to waste. Otherwise you got lonely tourists or eager students. And it is all so romantic here, according to what the media fed them.]

Ah, mignon... it is your first time?

[He ignores his wounded pride regarding the name of this fine Capital....]

I... am from Paris. Oui.

[Gives the boy a wry but charmed smile and puts an arm around him. You know, to guide him along.]

Have you been up the tower?

....

[Where the hell had this kid been....]

Mais oui, but of course! I shall take you. All the way.

[Arm still in place, squeezing just a little, he guided the kid to the front of the queue and past all the disgruntled tourists who had to wait.]

We walk and then take the elevator a little way. Are you hungry?
