[ It was nice of Chief Fuuga to let them stay a few days after.....the Incident. Especially considering some of the civilians weren't entirely ready to let bygones be bygones about the whole "attacking Wind Tribe members because they were under a glamour spell disguised as Faceless" thing, despite Fuuga vouching for them. People will be people, Azura guesses. She can't blame them for being wary about her group after they almost killed their tribesmen.

So she doesn't leave their lodgings very often, but tomorrow's the day they're leaving for Izumo to talk with Duke Izana. At present, they've got...Sakura and her retainers, Kaze, Rinkah, and Fuuga's adoptive son, who oh-so-graciously volunteered to come with them to be their "aid" for their quest. She has her doubts about how one sorcerer is going to help, but hey--the more the merrier, with their laughably tiny army.

The Wind Tribe isn't really easy on the eyes--cliffs and ropes and rocks, but it has a simplistic feeling to it that she supposes people might find appealing. It's that sort of thinking she's absorbed in while she takes a walk about the grounds, not looking where she's going.

So in the world's most cliche meeting, she bumps right into someone walking across her path. ]

Ow--!

[ and then. she sees it's a man from the Wind Tribe, and she fumbles to put her lance aside, because she wants to appear as nonthreatening as possible. ]

...I'm quite sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going.

[It's rare for John to actually walk anywhere- he vastly prefers his other method of transportation- but he has been keeping his talents secret while the outsiders have been present in the village. If his true gifts are known, it's likely he will be conscripted into the army, and John isn't much of a fighter. He would prefer to stay off of the battlefield, thank you very much.

But while walking through the village, an unfamiliar young woman bumps into him, and he nearly drops the bag he had been carrying. He lets out an 'ah!' as he fumbles with it, but ultimately catches it before its contents spill onto the ground.]

You might wanna keep your eyes open here. A couple apples could go tumbling with little consequence, but the same can't be said of a person.

[He's polite and friendly, despite the collision just a moment ago. No harm no foul, maybe?]

R-Right, yes. [ she takes a step back and tries to get a better look st who she bumped into. A diviner, like Hayato...? But he seems kind of different.]

I was a bit distracted. My apologies again, sir.

[He is indeed a diviner, but he is also a massive nerd, complete with glasses and everything. That could be what makes him look different.}

It's alright, Miss...?

[He trails off there, waiting for Azura to give her name.]

[ Is he wearing the outfit, though, in all of its questionable glory? Has John fully embraced the Fates aesthetic of Please Wear More Clothes, in this universe? This is vital information.

But ah, glasses. And those...unfortunate teeth... he sticks out like a sore thumb around here, she guesses. ]

Azura. Of Lady Corrin's army.

[ a little bow ]

[Thankfully no, he's slightly more modest about his appearance than that fake-shirt. Being a named character means he gets a unique outfit.]

Well hello there, Miss Azura! I'm John, of the Wind Tribe. Though I bet you could guess that last part, huh?

[Since anybody not in Corrin's army is a member of the Wind Tribe and all.]

[ Huh. He's pretty friendly. Azura blinks at him for a second before--it clicks. Oh. He wants to keep talking with her. She'd expected someone from the Wind Tribe to just brush her off, like the others had done. ]

Aha. No, I don't think we've picked up any secret recruits. [ since she's more or less corrin's #2 ] It's...my pleasure. [ a slight smile. ]

[It definitely is odd, given what had happened recently, and John definitely notices her hesitation. Which is why he decides to speak up and explain.]

I don't hold it against you guys, you know. I'm sad my friends died, but it's not your fault.

You're much more forgiving than the majority of your kinsmen. [ a forced smile ] But, ah, we'll be out of your hair tomorrow, anyway.

Moving on so soon?

[He understands why they would want to leave quickly, but part of him is curious to hear if there's another reason too. He had heard Hayato was to travel with them, and he wants to know more about it.]

We have business in Izumo that we need to quickly attend to.

[ a pause, and a smile ]

Unless you happen to know about the Seal of Flames and can spare us the trip.

[ Fuuga had only been able to tell them so much--that it was the key to deicidal power, and Corrin's sword was connected to it.

But Izana supposedly knew more ]

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about it. I'm a wind-guy.

[Since he's wind tribe and all.]

But, um, maybe I can help on the trip over? Like, I trust Hayato to help you guys, but two extra sets of hands is better than one, right?

I can see that.

[ a little laugh. Huh. This guy was weirdly easy to talk to. ]

Hmmm. I'll have to check with Corrin, of course, but I can't see her saying no to another ally. I'm curious, though, what makes you so concerned about our trip?

If you're up against a powerful sorcerer who can trick your eyes, then you're gonna need all the help you can get.

[Short and to the point, really. He doesn't want Hayato, or anyone else, to die from another mistake like this. Not if he can do something about it.]

He's only a piece of the greater puzzle, I'm afraid. [ he was only one of Garon's lackeys, and they're facing an actual murderous dragon god.

raising her eyebrows ] Do you still want to go, knowing that?
