It was too much.

[This is one of those times that he doesn't need Kissa to remind him to use his words and explain better. But he does pause, thinking on how to say it in a way Izo will understand.]

I feel stuff too much, all the time. Outside on the rooftops I can feel even a slight breeze if I don't bundle up, and it tickles in an itchy way. That's why I always wear my cloak even if it's not that cold. Right now I can feel how scratchy your blanket is on my back, or how there's a fold in my pants in an annoying spot.

[Indeed, if Izo were to glance down, he would see a small crease in his pants, one that goes under his leg.]

It's not always bad. I like cookies, even if the grainy texture is annoying if the cookies aren't made right. And I liked what we were doing, I liked the teasing. But eventually it was too much and I felt like I had to change something or I was going to scream and fight to run away.

[This is when he lifts up his arm to peer at Izo.]

It's always like that. That's why I don't let people touch me most of the time. Didn't you notice?

[He has always dodged hugs, or tackles, or people trying to grab him and drag him along. And when people have invaded his personal space, he's been sure to pull away. So maybe it's a testament to how much he gets along with Izo, that he agreed to this in the first place.]

[ He may not have been smart, but he made up for that in observational skills; he noticed what many people wouldn't notice. The slightest tell in body language could give him the opening he needed to kill. ]

Of course you're special. I don't trust most people, and I'm even pickier about who can touch me.

[He stops for a moment there, considering what to say. His mind is a jumble of thoughts and he knows he has to at least try to sort them out before speaking them.]

...we can do it again sometime. But we need a way to do it that's not 'too much'.
