This is the post for anything romantic with my characters! Love at first sight, confessing feelings, going on dates, whatever. If it is romantic, it goes here.

[CAKE IT IS

And booze later, for Shiro. After the boys are asleep. But cake for now. And he is eating that cake and enjoying it.]

You know, this is the first birthday in a while where I haven't done everything for myself.

[circumsutus]

Well, now that you've managed to survive this long, I guess I'll take care of the rest of the birthdays. [Stein's been busy with SCIENCE the last few birthdays. Totally not his fault.]

[lionson]

[Science is no excuse.]

You better, I'm counting on you for it.

Maybe I'll take care of yours in exchange. It seems only fair.

[circumsutus]

I wouldn't complain about that.

[Rin makes a "blugh" sound. Like kids do when their parents kiss. HE KNOWS WHEN THEY'RE BEING MUSHY.]

[lionson]

[SMART KID]

It sounds like someone else is complaining, though.

[circumsutus]

[More hair-ruffling from Papa Stein to his obviously brilliant son.]

Complainers don't get any more cake, Rin.

[lionson]

[Definitely the best way to get Rin to stop complaining and stuff his face with cake. Though there will be sugar rushes to deal with later.]

I guess he thinks we're being too lovey-dovey.

[Clearly he's never seen Shiro and Stein actually be lovey-dovey. Even if it's just playing around, because neither of them are that romantic.]

[circumsutus]

You know, Rin, some people actually kiss. That would be much worse, wouldn't it?

[lionson]

[Clearly that is the grossest thing ever, because Rin is making such a face at Stein.

Shiro, however, looks mildly offended.]

Hey, it wouldn't be worse for me!

[circumsutus]

I'll kiss you later, senpai. [Yukio joins Rin in looking grossed out.]

[lionson]

[That's more like it. Shiro makes a kissy-face at Stein, but it quickly changes to a grin as he hears the two little boys go 'eeeeew!']

It sounds like they're about done eating. Maybe we should head home, it's getting late for them.

[circumsutus]

All right. Let's go, you two. [It takes a bit of work for Stein to pay and carry both of the boys, since of course they want to ride piggy-back on him, he's huge to five year olds.

But eventually, they're on their way home.]

[lionson]

[Stein the giant monster of a man.

Shiro will just walk beside them, though he'll step in to scoop up Rin the moment he gets too wriggly and starts to fall off Stein's back.

Then he gets an idea.]

Say, think we could win a race against them?

[Which Rin just nods excitedly to.

A challenge has been issued, Stein. Do you accept?]

[circumsutus]

Hold on tight, Yukio. [Stein grins, and waits for Shiro to take off running. He'll even give the older man a head start.]

[lionson]

[Daww how nice.

Shiro is totally taking advantage of that, by the way. He's running down the street as fast as he safely can with a small child on his back.]

[circumsutus]

[And here comes Stein, taking advantage of his extra height to catch up, one arm holding Yukio to his chest.]

[lionson]

Cheater!

[TRYING TO RUN FASTER though he is obviously lagging behind, even if Rin is shouting for him to go faster.]

[circumsutus]

[Running faster. Stein and Yukio are going to win this.]

[lionson]

[They definitely are, but Shiro is going to put forth a good effort at least.

Where are they racing to, anyway?]

[circumsutus]

[Sometimes, you just need to run. It's a good use of energy, and the boys like to race.]

[lionson]

[And then sometimes you need to steal grab a skateboard and go zooming past, because there is a small child on your back who is screaming in your ear to go faster.

[circumsutus]

Hey! That's cheating!

[Yukio, of course, picks this moment to say "Go faster, Papa Stein!" So Stein has to run faster.

Hopefully, he won't trip and land on his face.]

[lionson]

[Don't feel bad, Stein. Shiro will get what's coming to him. If anyone's going to trip, it's the dirty cheater.

He tries to look back and make a face at Stein, but by doing so he takes his eyes off of where he's going. Rin's scream comes a half-second before Shiro crashes into a low wall and lands in some bushes.]

[circumsutus]

[He's not going to curse, not with Yukio clinging to him, can't have the boy picking up bad language. But Stein certainly doesn't slow down.

Shiro, he's not too concerned about. The guy's pretty tough, and he knows how to fall. But Rin... even with his absurd strength, he's still a little kid.]

[lionson]

[So loving, Stein.

Rin is fine, and in fact is just sitting on Shiro's back, blinking in confusion. That sure was a tumble, but since he landed on Shiro, he wasn't hurt.

Shiro is mostly unharmed too, just with a face full of branches and a pride full of hurt.]
