Also I was going to post this with Luca's journal to use his butt icon but then I realized his paid was expired, so no butt icons for you. Sorry.

HYYYAAAGGGHHHHHHH!! [He should really be more careful about that thing. Cause damn, it's sensitive] Leggo!! Leggo, dammit, that hurts!! Fine, fine, I'll chase dogs, whatever let go!! CHRIST that HURTS!

[Once Rin agrees, Bon lets go. But that reaction was way too funny. Bon has to be an asshole about it.]

What, you can't stand one guy tugging on your tail a little?

[flashover]

That wasn't a tug, you dick! You YANKED it! You tried to pull it off me!! [he holds his poor, battered tail to his chest. He's being a big baby about it, no surprise there] It's definitely discom....disco... dis....combobulated! [Dislocated, Rin] Whatever, let's just go to the park already!!

Yeah, yeah, whatever. I didn't know the son of satan was such a whimp.

[Whoops purposefully antagonizing Rin]

Look, YOU don't have one! If you did, you'd know! Maybe I should just kick you in the balls, huh? Maybe set your underwear on fire! It'd feel about the same! [STICKING HIS TONGUE OUT BECAUSE SO VERY MATURE]

I don't need you anywhere near my balls, thank you very much.

[He has no doubts in his mind that Rin could both kick him there and light his underwear on fire at the same time. But that's not the point here, the point is that Rin is being a big baby.]

If it's so sensitive, then maybe you need someone to brush it out instead.

[flashover]

Hehehe. Like I want to be anywhere near 'em! I'm just sayin'! I could kick them.

[he pouts and then swishes the poofy end in Bon's face. Enjoy that fine dusting of ash right on your nose]

Maybe YOU should do it! To make up for breaking all the delicate little bones in there!

[He coughs a little, and he swats the end of the tail away. Though it's not really with any force, he's more trying to get it out of his face than to hurt it.]

Delicate my ass! You're a demon, not a cat.

[flashover]

Soooo? Demons don't need their tails brushed too? Kuro needs to be brushed all the time! HE'S a demon! You owe me!

[to say nothing of the fact that Kuro is a demon cat...]

Kuro is also a cat, even if he's a demon.

[Nope he's still going to point that out.]

And I'm not going to brush your tail just like that. That's bet-losing stuff right there.

You know, he'd probably claw your face into ribbons if he heard you call him a cat! He gets all sore about it.

Hmmm.. BET LOSING STUFF, YOU SAY. Rin gets an evil glint in his eye]

A bet, huuuuh? [he grins] Then we should bet! If I win, you have to brush my tail! If you win... uh.... You get to pick what I have to make for dinner for a week!

Normally you make the bet before deciding on the rewards.

[He's just pointing that out for you, Rin. Because it should be obvious, but somehow Rin always misses the obvious.]

-And don't think you're going to win any bet that easily!

[flashover]

Well, I had the rewards in mind, first, this time! Who cares about the order?

[gosh Bon, it's not like this is long division]

Hehehe. Don't be so sure, Suguro! How about this. First person to reach the lake in the park is the winner! Just a good old fashioned foot race! And if you win... on top of getting to pick what we eat for dinner, I'll let you bless the pond and I'll take a swim. [he's super confident he's going to win, you see]

except no not really, he knows Rin is faster than him. Bon is built for stamina, not speed. So, he needs this to be a long race, not a quick one.]

Deal! But first, we gotta run to the train station, touch the light pole right by the door, then go to the park.

[flashover]

[Rin squirms a little] But that's so far! [He knows he'll burn out on such a long run, and he really doesn't want to take a holy water bath.] How about this. We ride Kuro to the train station, and then race to the park. Take it or leave it!

[kyotoprincess]

[He's about to say that would be cheating, because Kuro would be doing the work. But the train station is further away from the park than where they are now, so it might still work. Rin might get tired before reaching the gates.]

...Alright, sure. That's a fair compromise.

[It's a gamble, but maybe it'll pay off.]

[flashover]

Good! [Rin smiles and calls out for his familiar]

KURO! Stop chasing bugs and get over here!

[Kuro is, indeed, nearby, pouncing on fireflies. He made the mistake of trying to eat a few, and now he's got foul-tasting, glowing goop on his face. He makes a complainy meowing noise]

Uh, yeah, I know they taste bad. And I told you. But you had to find out for yourself, didn't you? [Rin how did you know that about fireflies. Better not to ask...] Anyway. Me and Suguro need a ride to the train station, you up for it?

[Kuro hops up and down, meowing excitedly. He vanishes in a poof of smoke, reappearing in his much larger form. He bounds over and crouches down so the boys can get on]

[Rin why

Bon still remembers his last ride on Kuro, and he's a little glad that the situation isn't so dire this time. It's no less serious, though. Races are serious business.

Bon climbs up on Kuro's back, leaving room for Rin to ride in front of him.]

How do you know what fireflies taste like, anyway?

[Yep he asked]

[flashover]

[Rin hops up and grabs a hold of Kuro's collar, and the cait sidhe heads toward the train station at a brisk lope. Rin laughs a little, awkwardly]

Uh... well... you know... kids put stuff in their mouths all the time! I ate a lot of bugs as a kid... Then one time, one made me really sick, so I stopped. Dad thought it was funny so he never really stopped me, except for that one time with the centipede.

[kyotoprincess]

You know, I can safely say that I never ate bugs as a kid.

[That was Shima's job.]

Do you just have a mouth-thing? I see you chewing on pens sometimes.

[flashover]

Neither did Yukio! Weird.

[a mouth thing? Rin turns and gives Bon a look]

Uh... maybe? I guess? Why are ya always watchin' me anyway? [because he had ruined a few pens that way. And at least one uniform when his fang pierced the ink stick. Either way, they were at the station, and Rin hops off]

I sit right behind you, Okumura. I have to look in that direction to see the board anyway.

[Idiot.

But Bon is climbing down from Kuro's back now. Race time is a go.]

Alright. First one to the pond in the park wins. And no pushing anyone into the pond either, don't be a sore loser.

[flashover]

You can see what's in my mouth from behind me? Wow... I didn't know my head was see-through! [Rin snickers at his really awful joke. Rin stretches a little, then sends Kuro to the pond in advance to be the final authority.]

Yeah yeah, I'm not gonna push you in the pond! Because I'm going to win! On three, then...

One...

Two...

THREE!

[Rin is a demonkid of his word, and doesn't start running until he says three. But when he does, he takes off at a sprint, whipping his tail around for balance. Like some sort of stupid cheetah. ]

Like hell you'll win!

[A stupid cheetah that will soon run out of steam.

Bon starts running too, but he's not going at a full-sprint. Not yet. Even though he quickly falls behind, he will keep up a steady pace. Rin's got to tire himself out soon enough, and that's the moment Bon is waiting for.

That, or maybe Rin will get confused and circle back around to see what Bon is doing. Maybe.

Of course, Rin could also just make it to the pond with no trouble. Bon is going by his best estimates here, and he might be wrong.]
